Mario Enrique Espinosa, Sr., peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Thursday, February 18, 2021, at the age of 73. Mario was born on May 15, 1947 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to parents Daniel Espinosa Castillo and Alicia Mireles de Espinosa.
Mario married his precious bride Yolanda Campos on October 22, 1967, and together they raised four children. He immigrated to the United States in 1971. The family moved from Monterrey to Pasadena in 1975. He was a resident of Pasadena, Texas and resided there with his family for the past 50 years.
Mario made his career as a certified professional welder and was employed by many of the world's most highly respected industrial services contractors and numerous petrochemical refineries located along the Houston Ship Channel and Highway 225. In his youth he was a professional cyclist where he won numerous competitions. He was also involved in bodybuilding, baseball and boxing. He enjoyed dancing and loved música tropical. His love and greatest pride were his family.
Mario was a believer of Jesus Christ who lived in faith towards the Lord, and never in fear. He was valiant, determined, tough, heroic, strong and hilariously funny.
He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Alicia Espinosa.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Yolanda Espinosa; daughters: Juana Espinosa and spouse James Bowen, and Ms. Alex Espinosa; sons: Mr. Mario Enrique Espinosa, Jr. and wife Casie, and Mr. Daniel Espinosa; granddaughters: Laura Espinosa and Isabella Espinosa; grandsons: Steven Watkins, Samuel Watkins, Mario “Tré” Espinosa, III and Jonas Espinosa; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 5 p.m.- 9 p.m. ONLY at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
The Funeral is scheduled for Monday, March 8, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
