Marina grew up and raised her family in Houston's eastside. She retired in 1989 from the City of Houston, Bush Intercontinental Airport. After her retirement she was an active member of the YMCA Magnolia Senior Center where she served as the treasurer. She enjoyed activities at the "Y" and traveled extensively with the group. She was a gifted seamstress making clothing, outfits for school plays, drapes and alterations for her family and friends. She was a wonderful gardener and loved caring for her many flowering plants and her succulent collection. Often when she visited she helped her family care for their gardens often repotting and buying more plants. Her garden was her happy place. Her personality filled a room, she was quick to tell a story always with her wit and humor. Her zest for life was special but her love and care for her family was endless and will be greatly missed.
She moved to Ft. Worth, TX in 2014 to be closer to her daughter and family. She stayed active being a grandma and great grandma. She attended the 8:00 am mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Catholic Church where she was a member. She made many friends during her time in Ft. Worth both at church and South Hills Elementary where her daughter works. Many of the teachers and staff often visited her after the school day and she enjoyed the visits and support. She especially enjoyed frequent shopping trips to buy things for the littles of the family and proudly displayed all of the artwork and cards from her family.
The family would like to thank her doctors and Vitas Hospice staff for the care they provided during her illness.
