Marilyn was born on August 23, 1929 in the Bronx, NY, only child of Emanuel and Clara Isaacs. She married Harold Grotenstein in 1950, and they had three children. After their marriage ended she wed Abraham Marcus in 1970. She was the administrative assistant for several union electrical contractors and remained a strong IBEW member even after retirement. Her belief in charitable volunteering brought her to Hospice of West Palm Beach, where she gave her time for 30 years both in administration and in the retail shop. In her retirement she also cashiered till she was 85 at Publix Supermarket, where she was much loved by her coworkers and customers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Abe, son-in-law David Glass and many of her numerous first cousins with whom she was close. Those surviving and mourning her loss include her children David Grotenstein, Caroline Isaacs (and Randy Mayers) and Ellen Glass, grandchildren Alec and Laura Grotenstein, Emma and George Joseph Glass and Sarah Isaacs-Mayers (and Forrest Winston-Doble) and several of her beloved first cousins.
