Marie Wells

Marie Nunnery and Smiley Wells, Jr. were united in holy matrimony. To this union was born four children, 2 sons and 2 daughters.

She was succeeded in death by her late husband Smiley Wells, Jr., 10 siblings, her youngest son and 1 grandchild. Marie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in her early twenties. She served as usher until she was in her late sixties at Brown Chapel and Good Hope Baptist Churches in Liberty, MS. She also sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and was an active mission board member.

Marie moved to Houston, Texas on May 17, 2003 to be near her two daughters. She became a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Houston, TX in 2005. She faithfully attended church services on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. She also faithfully attended bible study at Cornerstone Gardens Apartment where she lived until her health failed. Marie loved the Lord and enjoyed serving and worshipping him.

Marie leaves to mourn and cherish her memories two daughters, Emma Alexander, Spring, TX and Sylvia Wilson, Fulshear, TX; one son, Clifton Wells, Houston, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 4 sisters and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
