Marie Lacy Mosley Burrell was touched by the Angel of Peace on September 8, 2017. Her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain into her eternal heavenly home. She was born on January 3, 1927 in Palestine, Texas (Anderson County) to the proud parents of William and Maggie Bell Lacy. Marie accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior, where she was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Palestine, Texas, during her childhood and young adult life. She graduated from Lincoln High School, and after graduation, she went to Mary Allen College in Crockett, Texas. Marie married Howard Jerome Mosley in August of 1944, and remained married until his death, September 19, 1978. During her marriage to Howard she attended Grant Chapel AME Methodist Church in Palestine, Texas. Through their union, they produced three children, Jerlean Mosley Boyd, Linda Ann Mosley Gilmore, (Preceded her in death), and Howard Kenneth Mosley, Jr (Phyllis). While married, she raised her children, and attended Henderson County and Tyler Junior College where she earned her LVN Certificate. She had many job opportunities in her life time, but she loved and retired from the Villa Inn Nursing Home, as an LVN. As a result of her union with Howard, she became a grandmother to Sterling E. Boyd, Steven M. Boyd (Tiffany), Krisina L. Gilmore, Keyana C. Moseley, and Howard J. Moseley. She was a great grandmother to Rashad, Izrael, Olivia, Armond, Elisha, Jessica, Jada, Aniya, Jasmine. She also gained a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. After the death of her husband, Howard Mosley, she was introduced to Robert W. Burrell through her brother-in-law Frank Smith in Houston, Texas. Robert and Marie consoled each other about their deceased spouses, and their friendship developed into a relationship that led to their marriage that lasted thirty-five years (1979 - 2014) until his death April of 2014. Although their union produced no children, he was an outstanding stepfather to Marie’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, various relatives and friends. Her living siblings to cherish her memories, are Julius Lacy (Los Angeles, Califormia) and Mrs. Wanda V. Lacy Gaston (Charlie) of Seattle, Washington. Her siblings that preceded her in death are Ousley, Helen, Brother, Ilander, Calla Mae, Evelyn, Louise, Ruby, and Beulah Mae, J. C., Roscoe, W. M. Brim Lacy. She was a strong, hardworking, caring, family oriented, and loving woman. Her greatest love was to have the family together for the holidays and all family activities. It thrilled her to see her family together from childhood to her death. Marie will be missed in all aspects of our lives. In her times of need, hurt, troubles, her famous words and belief in God was "God will Hope me." "He always Hope me."
