Marie Bennett

Marie Bennett passed away at the age of 88 on April 24, 2017 in Spring, Texas. Marie Bennett was the 3rd of 8 surviving children born to Gilarmo and Carmella Cannino in Hammond, Louisiana on July 30th, 1928. She enjoyed her childhood living and helping on the family farm. She deeply loved all of her relatives and friends. Marie helped her mother and father as much as she could starting at a very early age. She would help her mother with the laundry and dishes and also helped her father pick whatever he grew in the fields.

Marie went to school in Hammond and played softball. Later in life Marie went to work at a sewing factory for a while, then moved to Houston where she worked at the Woolworth store downtown.

Marie Bennett is preceded in death by her parents, Gilarmo and Camella Cannino; her husband, Ira Earl Bennett, sister, Geneva Henderson and brother, Joseph Cannino.

She is survived by her siblings: Nina Louis, Russell Cannino, Dominic Cannino, Frank Cannino and Jean Ann Haughey-Milton. Her children, James Earl Bennett, Candces Marie Cannino and Lisa Marilyn Albery. Her grandchildren, Amber Karnik, Lance Walker, Chance Walker, Matthew Bennett, Jessica Cannino, Luke Bennett, Richard Rannabargar and Dominic Weidner. Also, by her great-grandchildren, Joshua Cannino, Lance Walker Jr., Nylah Bennett, Nessey Bennett and. many nieces and nephews.
