Maria de la Luz Vázquez

Maria was born to Heriberto Ortega and Emilia Cedillo Perez, March 22, 1959, in Rio Frío Mpio, Ciudad Mante, Tamaulipas. She married Saturnino Federico Vázquez in 1976, and they lived together in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 7 children.

She is survived by her husband Saturnino Federico Vázquez. She also leaves to cherish her memory by her 6 children, Federico Vázquez and wife, her daughter Sonia Esther Cedillo and husband, her daughter Yudith Adriana Vázquez, her son Jorge Adrian Vázquez and wife, her daughter Yadira Elizabeth Vázquez, and her daughter Sandra Edith Longoria and husband. She also leaves to cherish her memory by her 13 grandchildren, Angelique and Maritza Vázquez, José Luis and Yadira Alejandra Cedillo, Ariadna, Alondra and Adrián Castro, Jorgeadrian, Julian and Joel Vázquez, and Michael, Scarlet, and Savannah Longoria, all whom Maria adored and loved infinitely!

She was preceded in death by Jorge Adrian Vázquez, (Son), Heriberto Ortega, (Father), Emilia Cedillo Perez, (Mother), and Aurelia Vázquez Quintanilla (Mother-in-law). Maria was a loving housewife and enjoyed raising her children and helping with her grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting parties, shopping (especially at Macy’s) and spoiling her grandchildren.

A special visitation service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 5 pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A second special service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11 am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, followed by interment. Reception will follow at 1115 Zoe St. Houston, TX 77020. The Vázquez Ortega family would like to thank everyone for their messages of condolences and unconditional support.
