Maria Guadalupe Tapia died peacefully at age 89 on April 28, 2023. She was born May 27,1933 in Eagle Pass Texas, and married the love of her life Luiz Tapia April 28,1950 in Quemado Texas. She celebrated 73 years with the man she cherished, loved and had the most adventurous life with.
She was a woman with many nicknames from wife, mom, daughter, sister, grandma, aunt Lupita, Granny wanny, but mostly Lupe. She was the life of any party she attended and could light up a room with more than her beautiful face and fancy outfits. Lupita had so many loves in her life from dancing, crafting, cooking, shopping to dressing up to the nines. She did as all respectable Southern woman would do and never left the house without her makeup on. She really was a small town girl who grew up in an uptown world. She had a desire to travel the world and that she did with her husband, friends and family.
Lupe worked for Texas Instruments in Houston Texas for many years, yet the most exciting job of her career was with NASA soldering motherboards for the Project Gemini Spacecraft.
She was known for her faith in our Heavenly Father Jesus Christ and love of the Virgin Mary. Lupita did have many things in life she loved but the biggest love of all was her family.
Lupe is survived by her husband Luiz Tapia, brothers Randy Lopez, Johnny Lopez and sister Rafaela (Pinky) Rodriguez.
Lupita was blessed with four daughters Linda McKinney ✝️, Judy Falcon, Elizabeth Travioli, and Bridget Bonilla.
Lupe aka Granny Wanny is also survived by amazing grandchildren; James Falcon, Kenneth McKinney, Misty Hagood, Jennifer Duran, Sean Bonilla, Joseph Travioli, and Luke Bonilla.
Lupe continued to be blessed and survived by Great Grandchildren; Caylin Wilkey-Falcon, Presley DeForest, Melissa McKinney, Kelly McKinney, Jacob Duran, and Russell McKinney
Granny Wanny was soon to be blessed with a Great Great Granddaughter Brooklynn DeForest.
There is no doubt that she was one of a kind. Lupita lived a blessed life. We will cherish the memories, until we meet again.
Please join us in celebrating her life, May 15, 2023 Monday at 10am in The Grand Chapel Room. Burial to follow at 11am at Brookside Memorial Park.
