Maria Carmen Hernandez

Maria del Carmen went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2017. She was a loyal and devoted wife and mother who was born in Santa Rosa, Nuevo Leon on Feb. 24, 1927. She met her husband, Trinidad Hernandez and later married on Nov. 9, 1940. A few years later they relocated to Houston, TX where they lived their remainder of their lives. They were married for 49 yrs. and had six children. She spent the later years of her life dedicated to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victorio and Margarita Cruz, her husband, Trinidad Hernandez, sisters, Leonor Cruz de Lopez and Francisca Cruz de Sosa. She is survived by her children Ramiro Hernandez and wife Tonia Hernandez; Martha Ortega and late spouse Faustino Ortega; Roger Hernandez; Piedad Herrero; Joey Hernandez and wife Kay Hernandez; and Carmen Hatchett; grandchildren Ramiro Hernandez Jr. and wife Jodie Hernandez; Ricardo Hernandez and wife Michelle Hernandez; Shelly Leal and husband Felipe Leal; Christina Hernandez and wife Monica Perez; Sophie Ortega; Gerardo Ortega; Gabriel Martinez and wife Vernonica Martinez; Alyssa Hatchett; Daniel Herrero and wife Vivian Herrero; Jaime Herrero and wife Jess Laskosky; Joey Hernandez; Alanna Soto and husband Andy Soto; Ariel Hernandez; 10 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Friday July 7, 2017 from 5pm -9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Forest Park Lawndale. A mass service will be held on Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 3011 Telephone Rd. Houston, TX 77023 with interment services following immediately at Forest Park Westheimer 12800 Westheimer Houston, TX 77077.
