Born on September 7, 1937 to José and Anita Granado, Mary grew up in Pecos, Texas and graduated from Pecos High school in 1956 where she was an A+ student and member of the pep squad. She loved to write stories and sing songs, but above all, she loved to dance. She met her loving husband, Gilbert, when she was 13 years old and they became great friends and were married on December 18, 1957. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
She will always be remembered for her beautiful movie-star smile, sweet kindness and loving patience. Her sense of humor was brilliant, her laugh, infectious, and her hugs, unmatched. She had a special gift that made her easy to talk to when you just needed someone to listen. She could remove sadness from anyone’s heart by making them laugh at the silliest things. She loved caring for others and always put everyone else first.
