Mrs. Maria Leova Coronado de Corona, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024, in Houston , Texas, at the age of 89. She was born on February 5, 1935, in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, to parents Jose Coronado and Clara Hernandez.
Maria’s journey through life was filled with love, devotion, and passion. She met the love of her life, Pedro Corona, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. After four years of courtship, they married on February 13, 1951, and together, they built a beautiful family. Their 73 years of marriage were marked by deep love and unwavering commitment.
Maria had many passions that brought joy to her life. She was known for her extraordinary cooking skills, her love of traveling, and her knowledge of healing herbs. She enjoyed singing in duet with her husband at church, and her beautiful plants and flowers were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. Her love for romantic old music, especially the songs of Italian singer Nicola Di Bari, filled her home with warmth and nostalgia.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Coronado and Clara Hernandez, her son Jose Felipe, and her granddaughter Desiree Corona Gonzales.
She leaves behind her devoted husband Pedro Corona; her children Rosario (Oscar Villarreal), Ruth Deyanira (Ralais Harper), Martha, Eliseo (Victoria Hernandez), Esther Cecilia, David, Patricia Nohemi (Homero Alonso), Victor Ruben (Hilary), Abel, Joel (Sonia Corona), Deborah Corona, and Carlos Josue (Bero); 28 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will continue to cherish her memory.
The pallbearers for Mrs. Maria Leova Coronado de Corona will be Joel Corona, Joseph Corona, Carlos Josue Corona, Carlos Josue Corona Jr., Eliseo Corona, David Corona Hernandez, Ralais E. Harper, Jovan R. Harper, Pedro Villarreal, and Oscar B. Villarreal.
Maria’s life was one of love, sacrifice, and joy. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and the countless lives she touched.
