Maria Crescencia Cazares 81, passed away on March 28, 2024. Maria lovingly referred to as “Tencha” a nickname she adored. Maria was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on April 10, 1942. She resided in Houston, Texas at the time of her passing.
Maria was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid gardener, expert seamstress, culinary genius, and an extraordinary keeper of secrets. Gardening was her favorite hobby and when she was not with her plants, she was thrift store shopping or spending quality time with her family.
Maria was a woman of God that read her bible daily. A faithful Christian who dedicated her life to her Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. She attended many different churches in and around Houston area.
Maria spoke fondly of her first job, a sales associate for Jackson Feed Store in Brownsville, Texas. After moving to Houston she would then spend 17 years working for Chelsea Catering Company before retiring.
Maria originally from Guanajuato, Mexico where she met Bibiano from San Fernando, Mexico in 1966. They married in June of 1968 in Matamoros, Mexico. The young couple lived in Raymondville, Texas until the early 1980’s. Maria, Bibiano and their family eventually settled in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her children, Rosalia, Reymundo, Juan Alejandro, Biviano Jr., Damiana, Jose Pablo, Anel Cazares-Ho and her husband (Joseph), Liliana Loya and her husband (Lawrence), Maryela; her siblings Patricia, Maria De La Luz, Maria Luisa, Maria Leonarda, Yolanda, Jose Librado, brother in law Enrique, 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Maria was preceded in death by her father Jose E. DeBlas; mother Francisca Elvira DeBlas; great grandson Elijah Nguyen Cantu; brother Faustino DeBlas; brother in law Alfred Maximilian Strubelt; niece Mary Helen Bazan; sister Maria Josefina Gonzales, and her husband Bibiano Mascoro Cazares.
Goodbye is not forever. Goodbye is not the end. It simply means I’ll miss you until we meet again.
