Maria Briones,48, passed away to be with Lord on Monday, May 18, 2020 at St. Lukes Hospital. Maria was born August 8, 1971 in Houston, Texas. She was the second daughter to Manuel M. Moreno & Dolores Camario Martinez. Her parents and brother Manuel Martinez precede her in death. Michael and Maria Briones were joined in Holy Matrimony on January 12, 1991, when she married the love of her life for 30 years and to this union, four children were born: Michael Jr., Melissa, Edward and Monica Briones.
Maria accepted Christ at an early age and confessed that Jesus was her Lord and Savior. She attended Looscan Elementary, Marshall Middle School and Jeff Davis High School in 1990 where she received her High School diploma. She attended The University of Houston (Main Campus) where she studied Radiology.
Maria joined the Houston Police Department June 15,1998. During her career with the department, she was assigned to the Records Division and the Office of the Chief of Police as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement on December 22,2015.
Maria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother until the lord called her home. Her love for her family was priceless; she was always smiling and willing to help in any way possible. She was beautiful inside and out. She enjoyed word puzzles, the casino, amusement parks and taking tons of family road trips.
Maria has left us for a little while, but her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her husband: Michael A. Briones, four children: Michael A. Briones Jr., Melissa M Briones, Edward Briones and Monica Briones, three grandchildren: Kendall Briones, Connor Briones and MacKenzie Briones, her siblings: Sylvia Guerra, Mark M. Martinez, Matthew M. Martinez and James M. Martinez and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
