Margie Marie Granger Randolph of Humble, Texas passed away at the age of 86 on September 4, 2024 in Porter, Texas. She was born in Lafayette, Louisiana to Julie Dupont Granger Martin and Louis Granger on January 29, 1938. She retired from Rice Food Market where she worked in customer service for over 30 years. Margie was a devout Catholic and loved to make decorative crafts and celebrate Christmas year-round with numerous villages, trees, and trains. Her interior walls were a reflection of the love she shared for her family. She was proud of her Cajun heritage, enjoyed cooking traditional Cajun food, and passing along that passion for food to her children. Margie enjoyed watching crime/murder mystery television shows that included Tom Selleck and Angela Lansbury. She also enjoyed listening to Cajun music and Elvis. Her love language was acts of service, donating to various charities throughout the years and sending cards or gifts on holidays and special occasions.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers (Louis Granger, JB Martin, Aldon Granger and John Martin), two sisters (Lily Mae “Toot” Meche and Dorothy “Dot” Kent), two husbands (John Stapleton and James “Jim” Randolph), loving relationship (Joe Mask), and four grandchildren (Jordan Granger, Shelby Stapleton, Renẽe Massey, and Stacey Greer Hancock).
Margie is survived by her two daughters Brenda Gremillion of Scott, Louisiana, Debra Massey and husband Conan of Porter, Texas; three sons, Will Granger and wife Peggy of Neosho, MO, Harold Roy and wife Tricia of Point Blank, Texas and Jerry Stapleton of Kansas City, MO; one step-daughter Melissa Keplar and husband Bill of Lockhart, Texas; one brother Chester Martin and wife Alaine of Scott, Louisiana; five sisters Betty Babineaux and husband Ernest of Ball, Louisiana, Thelma Begnaud of Lafayette, Louisiana, Ida Hooper and husband Bobby of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Eva Venable of Scott, Louisiana, and Lois Stanislawski of Gonzalez, Louisiana; nineteen grandchildren Amanda Mata (Rick), Kevin Underwood (Crystal), Stacey Emmons, Jacob Hoffart (Emily), Jared Hoffart (Lauren), Conan Massey Jr. (Kathy), Shane Granger (Tasha), Brooke Campbell (Dave), Joshua Granger (Kym), Nicolas Granger (Mackenzie), Stephanie Travis (Garrett), Madison Angele (Vincent), Meagan Joiner (Lane), Mackenzie Roy, Alexander Scott, Johnathon Stapleton, Krysten Stapleton, Daryal Shelton (Otitis), and Mark Shelton (Amber); thirty-seven great-grandchildren Elle Mata, Logan and Lane Underwood, Dylan, Avery and Faith Emmons, Catie Sims, Ashley Renee, Jordan Smith, Wyatt and Garrett Hoffart, Bailey Granger (Hailey), Kynlee Granger, Christopher Madison, Mario and Emmanuel Villagres, Daelynd, Dawsynn, and Lilah Campbell, Annali and Willow Morin, Sophie and Stevie Travis, Kameron and Kinley Angele, Kailey Hayes, Karma Borunda, K’Lynn Stapleton, Aiden Cox, Azalea, Julian, and Peyton Shelton, Yaneli, Betty Magnolia “Maggie” Lightsey, Stephen, and Wyatt Shelton, and Shelby Lupovitch (Isaac); two great-great-grandchildren Evan Dragoo and Alice Lupovitch.
Margie is survived by a loving and large family including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members such as Viola Granger, Jerry Kent, Andrea Frommer, Tonya Roy, Kim Sexton, and her long time best friend of 60 years Francis Primeaux Hiser.
Pallbearers will be Will, Shane, Joshua, and Nicolas Granger, Jerry and Johnathon Stapleton, Alexander Scott, and Harold Roy.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at 8am on Monday, September 16th, at American Heritage Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. The rosary will follow visitation at 8:30am as well as funeral services at 9am. A private burial will follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas. A celebration of life will also be held at 11am at Key Life Fellowship (22774 Antique Ln, New Caney, TX 77357).
