At a very young age, Margaret gave her life to Christ. She was a proud Bearcat, graduating from Central High School in Galveston, TX with the class of 1968. After her formal education was complete, she decided to dedicate her life to being a dutiful wife to Leroy Walker, Jr., and the proud, nurturing mother to 7 children: Danon, Jason, Cullen, Thairin, Misty, Nyree, and Jamail. While caring for her family and home, she dedicated 32 years to UTMB as a unit clerk. With plenty of free time, she decided to spend the next 20 years refocusing her life on the Lord, her family, and friends.
Margaret, with her warm and affectionate smile, was a kind and generous person. Her culinary talents and her resolute spirit afforded her to greet, nourish, and minister to many people. In her later years, she was guided to Living Word Bible Church in Texas City, where she sat under Bishop Andrew James and was currently under the tutelage of Pastor Ronald Ross.
On December 20, 2023, after long anticipation, Margaret gained her wings and was reunited with her beautiful daughter; grandson, Thairin Arnell Walker, Jr.; father, David Stanley, Sr.; mother, Emma Stanley Mask; brothers, David Stanley Jr., Howard Stanley, Eddie Stanley, Arshell Stanley; and sister, Delores Stanley.
Leaving to miss her immensely are her sons: Danon (Chris) Walker, Jason (Kamisha) Walker, Cullen Walker (Jill McKnight), Thairin (LaShonda) Walker, Jamail Cross-Walker (Heather Pierson); daughters, Misty Walker, and Nyree Walker; 40 grandchildren; brothers, Earl Stanley, James Stanley, Iradean Stanley; sisters, Joyce Toatley, and Emma Stanley; god-daughter, Laquista Eldridge, and a host of other family members & friends.
