Margaret Mary Valentine

Margaret Mary Zawisza Valentine passed away peacefully after a long fight with cancer and pulmonary fibrosis at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family at the age of 77 on January 10, 2024. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Lake Valentine, her parents Stanely and Genieve Zawisza, and her brother Stanley “Butch” Zawisza. Margaret is survived by her sister Patricia Groebe, her children Lake Valentine Jr., Brandie Brooks, Brooke Savage and James Valentine. Her grandchildren Taylor and Chase Brooks; Emma, John, and Cody Savage; Britton and Kinsley Valentine. Her daughter-in-law’s Kelly and Andrea Valentine and son-in-law’s Corey Brooks and John Savage.

Margaret was first and foremost a loving wife and mother to all her children and grandchildren. Margaret worked many years for both Randalls corporation and the Houston Independent School District where she made numerous friends that gave her a lifetime of fond memories and endless stories. In retirement she enjoyed spending her time with her late husband and her grandchildren.

Margaret will be remembered as a kind, loving, and generous soul who loved unconditionally all who had the honor of knowing her. A special thanks to her daughter Brooke Savage and son-in-law John Savage who so graciously opened up their home to care for Margaret during the last year of life.
