Margaret Ophelia (Sue) Winchester Neal – Age 86, passed away on September 27, 2016, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born August 3, 1930, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Harvey and Emma Winchester. She had one older sister, Mildred, and brother, Melvin, and two younger brothers, Dee and Murl. After moving to Houston, she met Paul Robert Neal and they married on October 2, 1948. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together. Sue is survived by her daughter, Brenda Bondy and her husband, Glenn. They live in Clear Lake, Texas. She has one grandson, Russell Bondy and his wife, Erika, and great-grandson, Cody. She also has one granddaughter, Paula Bondy Johnson and her husband, Ryan, and great-grandsons, James and Paul. They all reside in League City, Texas. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Murl Winchester, and her brother-in-law, Max Raulins. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, Sue was a brownie and girl scout leader for her daughter’s troops. Then she began a career as an executive secretary at Markle Steel Company and Stran Steel Company. Her last job was the secretary for the ROTC Dept. at Pasadena High School. When she became a member of Sunset United Methodist Church in the early 1980’s, she became very active in the arts and crafts ministry. Sue will be laid to rest on Monday, October 3, 2016, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A visitation and viewing will be held at 1:00 PM in the small chapel in the Funeral Home followed by a service at 2:00 PM given by Dr. Jim Hastings of Sagemont Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
