…Continued. Mamma, your house was always immaculate, but not forbidden (it was comfortable). Your bed!  I don’t know how you got your bed so soft, but it was like sitting on a billowy  cloud!  All my kids loved to climb in and snuggle with you. Monica says that you were so soft. Your skin, your touch. You had such a Great sense of humor!!  A very funny lady.  You were such a good listener; always available to hear me troubles. You gave me such a loving home to go up in. No matter what the circumstances, I always felt loved and protected by you . I aspire to be more like you, even though it is truly impossible (those that know me, know what I’m talking about. Lol).   I sure do miss you!  Until we are together once again,  I love you❤️

Mamma, as I sit here by you, I want you to know how much I miss you.  You are on my mind so much; especially around the holidays. Memories of Christmases with you, Daddy, Terri and family were so great, because you made them so.  Every holiday was complete with table decorations, a special delicious home cooked  meal,  and confetti!  All your cards were glittery, and many of them very old and cared for. My taste in Christmas decorations and meal preparations came from being treated to your special holidays. And now so are Monica’s. She has to have popcorn and cranberries strung on her tree because of our  Christmas when the rats came to visit. Just a few days before Christmas, we had to leave everything behind at your house and stay with Aunt Pat. We quickly put up a small tree there.   We popped popcorn and all sat around stringing it and cranberries for garland. It was you, me, Monica, Cristian, and Aunt Pat. One of the most memorable Christmases!  We learned why they have a rat king in The Nutcracker!!  
Christmas growing up were always filled with carefully wrapped gifts, or baskets with raffia, bows and always something shiny to add that special touch. My mind just keeps reliving all these beautiful memories!!  They were all because of You, Mamma!  I’m so grateful for all of them!  I’m so sad that you are not here to play with the grand babies, and sad that they didn’t get to experience what I did; but happy that you are in the arms of Jesus for you are no longer suffering. I have so much to say! So many memories!  The paper bags on Valentine’s Day; the green cake on Saint Patrick’s day;  the beautiful meal presentation on Easter with the little grape tomatoes on salad because they looked like eggs. Oh my goodness! Your deviled eggs!  I just yesterday found your recipe card for deviled eggs!! Now I want ALL of your recipe cards!! I wish so much that I had spent more time with you in the kitchen, learning to cook like you. 
 I’m not finished!!

I have many fond memories of Grandmommy. She had a fantastic imagination and I thoroughly enjoyed playing “make believe” and dress up with her when I was a little girl.  She also used that creativity to make me a cute flip book/story to help me not mix up my b’s and d’s.
She was such a character and was unexpectedly witty. I remember her saying, “Well, I learned something new today – I guess it’s time for me to go to bed!” I am forever grateful she can finally be at peace.


Aunt Peggy was  very special to me growing up.  She lived only a block away.  I spent a lot of time at her house and have a lot of fond memories.  She taught me my ABCs.  She taught me how to make a meatloaf.  I remember her face in the kitchen window when I walked up the path to the front door.  Aunt Peggy counseled me when I was upset.  I would call her for all kinds of things.  She truly was a friend to me.  I will miss her, but I know that she is in Heaven with my Uncle Lon.  She is not suffering anymore.  Thank you Jesus!

One of my greatest memory was being able to spend some one on one time with her and talk about the day that I would finally be able to retire. She always would offer good advice and listen with her full attention. She was very selfless and never complained about anything. She will be missed and will be awaiting the day we will be back together in the future.
God bless her soul.

I have wonderful memories of my Aunt Peg going back to when I was just a very, young, little girl. My father would drive us all down to Houston to visit his sisters and we’d stay at Aunt Peg’s house. One year we all drove down to Mexico. But my fondest memories are of summers in Frankfort when she would drive up with Marti to stay with her mother, our Grandmother Ann.  Janie and I would stay with  them for weeks. She was so good to us. I also remember the wonderful conversations we’d have about life and being a teen. She would always listen and I knew she cared.  She made great potato salad that Jane and I ate up one night after coming home late and raiding the fridge. Sadly i ended up throwing it up out our bedroom window because I didn’t want Aunt Peg to hear me throwing up in the bathroom which was across from her bedroom. The next morning I woke up to her pruning the tree underneath the bedroom window 😳🙄🤣.  Why she didn’t send me home, I’ll never know. 🤣🤣🥰.I have so many more great memories. Those were some of the best summers of my life!  I truly felt loved by Aunt Peg. And I truly loved her. 

Dear Mother,

I miss your tasty fried chicken, southern meatloaf, and pan fried pork chops.
I miss your mashed potatoes and gravy.
I miss your  lemon cake and hot apple pie.
I miss your beautifully wrapped gift boxes.
I miss  your eagerness to help out in any predicament.
I miss your sympathetic ear and opinion.
I miss your eyes that smiled. 
Mostly, I miss the very sight of you.

God welcomes a very special lady into His Kingdom today, my Aunt Peggy!  She was a wonderful and talented aunt that was always kind and loving to me.  I enjoyed my time with her during my days in Houston living with her sister, my Aunt Pat.  She made the BEST Fruit Salad and Spaghetti dinners on Friday nights as we watched Dallas.  I always looked forward as a child to her summer visits to Frankfort, IN to visit my Grandmother Ann, her mother.  I will miss Aunt Peggy but am blessed all the more by her presence in my life.  :)  

Sweet memories of Peggy.  Her beautiful smile and sweet demeanor are what I loved about her.  Love to my little family and prayers for an eternal happy ever after in a place that will bring her the peace and beauty she deserves.  God bless you all.
