Margaret Orta Garcia

Margaret was born October 17, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas to Ruperto and Concepcion Orta.

She had a passion for nursing, and was an LVN for Houston Methodist for over thirty years. She also enjoyed working the elections for Harris County, for local, state, and presidential elections.

She is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, Arthur Garcia, siblings Roy Orta, Amparo Soto, Henry Orta, and Mary Tellez, and Raymond Martinez, beloved son-in-law. She is survived by her children Emily Garcia, Henry Buck Garcia, Gracie Garcia, Candace Martinez, and Eunice Ayarzagoitia (husband Pedro). Her grandchildren are David Wirtz, Jennifer Teran, Matthew Garcia (wife Liz), Stephen Wirtz, Jaclyn Flory (husband Travis), Jason Garcia, Eric Martinez, Milagro Ayarzagoitia. Her great-grandchildren are Isaac Bhuiyan, and Issy Wirtz. She is survived also by her numerous nieces and nephews who loved her like a second mom. She is also remembered by her son-in-law Earl Wirtz, as well as her granddaughter-in-law Melissa Wirtz.

A visitation for Margaret will be held Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018. A recitation of rosary will occur Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 1200 West 34th Street, Houston, Texas 77018. A mass of christian burial will occur Thursday, February 21, 2019 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Curch, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, Texas 77009. A rite of committal will occur following the mass of Christian burial at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
