Margaret Carpenter Baird

Margaret was born in Austin, Texas on November 3, 1933. She moved from Austin to Houston when she was 17 and graduated from Regan High School. Margaret continued her education culminating with a Bachelor degree in History from Rice University in 1955. Upon graduation, she moved to Austin, Texas where she taught history in the Public-School System. She married her college soul mate in 1956. They returned to the Houston area for good in 1957 where they raised their family.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Olive Carpenter; her husband of 38 years, Russell Leroy Baird Jr.; and her sister, Betty Ham. She is survived by her son Russell Scott Baird and his wife Vickie Baird of Conroe, Texas and her son Steve Baird and his wife Eleanor of Toledo Ohio. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Samantha of Conroe, Texas; Sara of Austin, Texas; Russell of Perrysburg, Ohio and Katie of The Woodlands, Texas.
