Margaret Abalos

Margaret Abalos, age 91, of Humble, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Margaret was born July 20, 1930. Margaret is preceded in death by her Mother, Christina E. Abalos and Father, Luis Abalos Sr. Brothers, John E. Abalos, Theodore Avalos Sr., Luis Abalos Jr., Philip Abalos and Joseph F. Avalos. Sisters, Mamie Flores and Mary Navarro. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. While she never married or had any children, she treated her numerous nieces and nephews as her own. She was a kind, but strong soul. She enjoyed going to church, She always had her door open to anyone in need and never shut the door on anyone. She helped countless individuals throughout her life. She also enjoyed cooking and having birthday celebrations and making homemade cakes for her nieces and nephews. She was a very religious person who believed in the power of faith and prayer and because of that we know she is in heaven with the rest of her family. She was the last surviving member of the original Avalos family.

Margaret was a longtime member and advocate of St. Stephens Catholic Church on Center Street in Houston, Texas. She worked for the St. Stephens credit union for almost 3 decades. She was secretary for many years. She devoted the best years of her life to the church. Margaret is loved by many and will be truly missed.

A visitation for Margaret will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo Navigation. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A visitation will occur Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 2019 Center St., Houston, TX 77007. A committal service will occur Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Morales Cemetery, 14605 Luthe Rd., Houston, TX 77039.

Serving as pallbearers are Manuel Castaneda, Brandon Castaneda, Benito Avalos , Ruben A. Salazar, Roland Macias, Sara Camacho, Felipe Limon and Esteban Rodriguez.
