Manuel Victor Flores

He was born in Houston, Texas on June 5th, 1945 to parents Alfred and Isabel Flores. Manuel graduated from Jeff Davis High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.

Manuel had a career in Electrical Engineering for 40 years with Southwestern Bell. He was also a member of the IEEE and the Houston Hispanic Genealogy Society, and had a passion for road trips, the Astros, genealogical research, and his beloved family and grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Melina Isabel Doig and husband Robert David, son Omar Manuel Flores and wife Kristen Marie; grandson Issac Taylor Flores and granddaughter Violet Ann Doig; brother Alfred Flores and wife Hilda, sister Gloria Galvan, sister Linda Flores Arredondo and husband Lupe Arredondo, and many other cherished family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Isabel Flores, brother Joe Jesse Flores, and sister Estela Flores.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday July 18th, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. The funeral service will follow on Wednesday July 19th, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. inside of the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3006 Kashmere St, Houston, Texas 77026, with interment to follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
