In 1983, he met his high school sweetheart and they married later that year. They were married 38 years and were the best of friends who spent every free moment together. They enjoyed countless moments filled with laughter and unforgettable memories. They raised a beautiful, close-knit family who love and support each other through life’s greatest challenges and that is his greatest legacy.
Manuel grew up in a loving Christian home and learned to play drums at an early age. He played for his church worship band “Grupo Alabanza” and recorded on several of their albums.
His passion was always working on vehicles and that became his life’s work. He dedicated himself to becoming an expert in his field and worked at the highest level for the City of Houston since 2006. His passion ultimately inspired his daughter Crystal to also go into the aviation mechanic field and that was something he was incredibly proud of.
He was a huge wrestling fan and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved to spend time watching wrestling matches and football games with his family. At the end of the day, his family was his utmost priority and his greatest pride.
He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be sorely missed and never ever forgotten.
Manuel is survived by his wife Sylvia I. Castillo, his daughter Matilde & husband Marco Jaimes, grandchildren Marco Jr, Noah and Joseph (JoJo), son Manuel Castillo III, daughter Crystal & husband David Muños, daughter Cassandra Wimberley, daughter Melanie Castillo, and Angel Velasquez.
