Manoucher was born on September 25th, 1927, in Tehran, Iran, where he grew up with three siblings, Forough, Mansour, and Fereydoon. From a prominent family, Manoucher grew up in an environment surrounded by culture and bright minds, taking an interest in poetry so much so that he could recite a poem for every occasion or conversational subject from memory. He attended primary school in Mashhad, and would later attend high school and college in Tehran. Manoucher exemplified qualities of discipline, exercise, and focus, which he attributed to his time in the military, where he served as an officer for two years.
During his tenure at the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Manoucher would meet his future wife, Pari Banoo Safavi, with whom he would share 58 beloved years and three children, Homayoun, Haleh, and Hedayat. After joining the Commerce Bank of Iran, the professional respect of Manoucher only grew as he took on the role of President of all banking in Isfahan. Under his management, the bank’s revenue in that state rose to become the third highest among all regions. Later, his recognized efforts would lead him to assume the role of President of Fars Province and, later, Khuzestan and Isfahan simultaneously.
His caring heart could be seen through his actions as CEO of the Padad Company, which built over 2,000 homes, schools, and other facilities. Through the implementation of his homeownership plan, he eased the burden of purchasing a home for his employees. He remained in contact with many families in need, reaching out however he could. The qualities of his character not only showed through his professional success but also in the lessons and memories that he imparted upon us.
Manoucher was a kind, gentle, and extremely knowledgeable man. His associations with leaders, artists, musicians, and scholars throughout his life helped him advance his knowledge in almost every subject. He was not a stranger to those in need and left his mark on both family and friends as well as strangers. We love him and will miss his presence, though he lives on through all of us. He is survived by his children Homayoun, Hedayat, and Haleh; grandchildren Shirin, Arya, and Neima; and great-grandchildren Beau and Jack. Thank you all for sharing this moment with us.
