Psalm 90:12 Deacon Malachi Wallace was born in Calvert, Texas to Earl and Otha Wallace on June 16, 1935; he was the eldest child of this union. At an early age M.C accepted Christ and was baptized at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Calvert. Upon completing high school M.C moved to Houston and continued his education at Texas Southern University and later united with the Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. On November 8, 1959, M.C united in holy matrimony to Annie G. Robertson, to this union three children were born. M.C retired as a manager with the Frito Lay Company after more than 30 years of service and went on to work for the family of Mr. Russell Thorstenberg. Under the leadership of Rev. Samuel H. Smith Sr. he served faithfully as a Deacon, Bible Study Teacher, and Sunday School Teacher, member of the Brotherhood, Helping Hands and the Male Chorus. On Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11:38pm he departed this earthy life. He was preceded in his death by his parents, Earl (Otha) Wallace; brothers, Earl Wallace, John Wallace, Charles Wallace, Melvin Wallace, and Sisters Fannie Wallace Meredith, and Early Wallace Bush. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 57 years Ann Wallace; two Sons, Virgil (Latrecia) Michael Wayne; one Daughter Sonya A. Hicks (Harold); one Brother ,Vernon (Joan); two Sisters, Janis McKinney (Joseph), Annie Ruth Rivers (Carl); three Sister in Laws, Barbara Wallace, Dorothy Wallace, Shirley Wallace, eleven Grand Children, eleven Great Grand Children a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and the Mt. Horeb M.B.C. family.
