Lurline Sampson was born March 29, 1950, in Long Bridge, Louisiana with twin sister Earline Sampson. Both attended Mary McCleod Bethune High School - in Marksville, Louisiana. During the late 1970s, Lurline and the entire Sampson family moved to Houston, Texas to find better opportunities at that time and met her late husband – James Davis (deceased 2019) for over 45 years. They raised two sons: Byrd Estes Sampson, and Billy Ray Sampson in 1973. She loved children and became an advocate for childcare and training. She later retired from Kompany Kids (8 years) in 2020 and dedicated her time and service to the St. Paul Baptist Church.
