Lupe DeLeon, Sr., age 72, was born January 18, 1939 in Meyersville, TX and passed away July 30, 2011 in Houston, TX. Lupe is preceded in death by his parents Leandro and Juanita DeLeon; brothers, Richard, Fred and Frank; sister, Tomasa Espinoza. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda; sons, Lupe Jr, Michael and wife Brandy, Billy Regier and wife Brenda; grandsons, Alexander and Lupe III, granddaughters; Amy, Channing and Haley, great grandchildren; Alyssa and Ethan; sisters, Janie Rameriz, Minnie Chacon and husband, Henry; brothers, Lee and Felix; sister-in-law, Amelia DeLeon and Elaine DeLeon and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lupe worked in Suede and Leather cleaning for 40 years, starting at John’s Leather Cleaners in 1960. He loved to watch football, especially High School football. He was a good pool player and poker player. He was a great dancer and enjoyed playing his accordion. All who knew him will miss his humor and wit. The family will receive guests Wednesday, August 3, 2011 from 6-9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm in the Chapel of Forest Park Westheimer. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, August, 4, 2011 at 10:30 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
