Luis Manuel Perez, 72, passed away Saturday morning, April 23, 2022, surrounded by his family at his beloved home. Born on Christmas Eve 1948 in San Juan, Nuevo Leon.
Luis was the youngest of 10 children. He was loved and cared for by his siblings, but his oldest sister Albesa took the role of his second mother. She was very protective of her little brother. She gave him much love but also disciplined him. He enjoyed stirring the pot by poking jokes at her and giving her a hard time.
Luis grew up in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. Luis received an accounting degree at Miguel Hidalgo Academy in 1967. In 1976 his eldest brother Mario persuaded him to move to Space City for better job opportunities. Luis found his niche managing Janitorial Services in the early 80’s and retired July 2020. Luis not only enjoy his job duties but genuinely cared for his employees assisting them in their professional and personal needs.
Luis met the love of his life Concepcion (Connie) in 1967 and married her August 10, 1969. He loved her dearly, always composing songs for her, serenating her and starting a wedding anniversary tradition by taking her to Puerto Vallarta yearly for the past 21 years.
Luis was a passionate music lover. At the age of 14, he was influenced by the Beatles and was self-taught in the acoustic guitar. He later also mastered the base, piano and accordion. Luis was a member of his church choir for almost 40 years. Before going home, he was able to give God glory by playing one last time on Easter Sunday. Now God gets front row in heaven along with his loved ones that preceded Luis, son- Hugo, daughter- V’Ana Elizia, mother- Maria, father- Fidel, brothers- Mario, sisters- Albesa and Margarita.
Luis is survived by wife of 52 years, Concepcion; daughter, Claudia and husband, David; daughter, Audrey Rose; grandchildren- V’Ana Gavriela, Lorenzo, Kennedy, Jordan and Stephanie (La Guera); brothers- Fernando, Horacio, and Antonio; sisters- Francisca and Rosa Maria; he adored his in laws, Yolanda Perez Ruiz, Griselda and Antonio Garza, as well as many nephews and nieces. Luis had his last strumming session 3 days prior to leaving us with his grandnephew, Sebastin.
The family would love to thank Dr. Ganguly and Vantage Hospice for the special attention they provided Luis.
Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Perez, David Castro, Jordan Castro, Hector Perez, Mario Perez and Antonio Garza.
A visitation for Luis will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral Home, 7010 Chetwood, Houston, TX 77081. A Funeral Mass will occur Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 5430 Ridgecreek Dr, Houston, TX 77053.
