Remembering a person who was an important part of our company's history

Lucy was a wonderful person & valued friend. A number of us struggled together early on through the rigors of getting “certified “ by the accounting profession. We had nothing & nowhere to go, but we’re always welcomed by Lucy at her place for Mac & cheese for dinner.
I am truly saddened to learn of her passing. 

Wow.  Thank you so much for sharing the video tribute for Lucy.  I enjoyed seeing every picture full of smiles, and family and love.  RIP sweet friend.  We are but a breath away.  On our last breath we will see you again. 

I met Lucy 10 years ago when we started our business. She was our company CPA and also became a good friend.  I will miss our fun conversations. My deepest sympathy to the family. She was an amazing person. 

Lucy & I met at UT & were Little Sisters together.  She was always so energetic.  We shared many laughs & memories together of those days.  I don't think I ever saw her frown.  We always looked forward to our Delta Sig & Little Sisters reunions to  catch up on our lives & brag a bit about our children and grandchildren.  She is now in the embrace of her Lord and Savior and will be missed by those she left behind.   Beautiful soul, rest in peace.     

I will always remember my Aunt Lucy as being giving and supportive. At Christmastime, or as it came to be our tradition because we celebrated on a weekend between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Thanksmas, she always gave thoughtful gifts. One in particular that reminds me of her every time I see it is a color-changing etched glass piano lamp.

We will miss you, Aunt Lucy. At Thanksmas this year you will be in our hearts. We love you.

Lucy and I went to Hartman Jr. High together.  We would see each other at parties as teenagers, as she went to Jones High School and I went to Milby High School.  I ran into Lucy years later at Memorial City Mall and after that she became my accountant for many years.
She will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.  

I was introduced to Lucy 20 years ago, when she started helping with my personal and business income tax preparation.  She was always very professional and timely in our business transactions, but also a joy to chat with during our annual meetings and multiple telephone conversations, even as she struggled with her cancer treatments.  Such a sweet soul.  She always had a positive attitude and never a bad word to say about anyone.  I hope that  Lucy's family and friends will accept my deepest condolences.

Lucy's brother, David, and I offer our deepest sympathy to Michael, Meredith, Steven, Tyler, Ryan, and Cora.  We remember her as a sister that loved her family unconditionally.  We learned from her that love is shown by being present.  She was always present.  

In addition to her family, Lucy loved her friends and extended family.  She was a proud and enthusiastic member of Rainbow Girls, Eastern Star,  the Houston Rodeo Speakers Committee, and the H.O. and W.F. Menefee Family Reunion.  If any of these groups were meeting, she was there.  Present.  

Lucy was also a lover of sports.  She cheered for Longhorns, Oilers, Rockets, Astros, and Texans.  Present for the wins as well as the losses, Lucy treasured the camaraderie sports afforded with her fellow fans.  She and Michael had season tickets during "Luv Ya, Blue," and often traveled to Austin for UT games.  She loved to tease David about his UH Cougars, but always made sure he knew about their successes, too.

We will miss Lucy terribly, but we have faith that her presence will always be with us even as her essence is with her Maker.

Truly the love of my life. I miss her like no one can believe. My daughter Meredith has helped me beyond belief. Thanks for a truly amazing life Lucy 

Lucy was our CPA for over 15yrs. Always upbeat and smiling, she will be sadly missed. Our deepest condolences to her family.

Lucy helped me for nearly 20 years. In that time I got to know her as a very competent CPA, and also a kind compassionate person with a wonderful personality. Our condolences to Lucy's family. She will always be remembered.

Lucy and I served as officers of our Rainbow Girl Chapter while we were at Jones.  I’m glad I was able to renew our friendship at the JHJ luncheons.  My condolences to her family. 

I met Lucy through Eastern Star.  She was a great friend and we had many good times together. Even though we didn’t see each other often we always could pick up our conversations and run with them like we had talked the day before.   My sympathies to her family.  

Lucy and I were close friends from before kindergarten. We grew up on the same street with many shared friends. I remember many sleepovers and playing hide n seek after dark. Such a different time in our world.  Although she will be missed on earth by those who love her , I know she is home with the Lord. I pray that God provides comfort to you. 

I went to Jesse Jones with Lucy. She was alway so very kind and had a beautiful smile.
May you her family have peace with your loss.

Lucy and I were friends and  classmates at Jones H.S., worked on a couple of reunion committees together and she was a lovely person.

Lucy and I have been friends since kindergarten... so 65 years.  She loved life, family, friends, her country and God. It's been my pleasure to know and love her. Until we meet again sweet friend. 

Lucy and I went to high school  together and were both in Commodores ( drill team) .  She and I teamed up a few years ago to chair our 50th. Reunion . We really bonded during this time and became  great friends .  I will miss my friend and am broken - hearted . My prayers are being lifted  for Michael and Meredith and their family..  You are pain free now and resting in the arms of our FATHER.  Love you , Lucy. 

Lucy and I were in same graduation class together.  I remember her being in the Commodores and I was a Majorette.  Rest In Peace.  You're in among angels now.  Sheila

Truly the love of my life. I’ll miss her so very much 

I am so very saddened by Lucy’s passing.  She was a brilliant and funny friend that loved her family so very much.  Lucy raised a beautiful daughter in Meredith — who, in turn, gave her three beautiful grandchildren.  My prayers are with her family.  I love and miss you, LuLu.  

Lucy and I shared many a memory in the 50 years we knew one another even though they were less frequent since my move to Austin in the late 80's. 

From college to date we were best of friends and always knew we had each others back. 

Mike and Merideth know that I share your loss and chose to remember the great times we had together.
