Lucy Hernandez Garcia, age 94, of Houston, Texas passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. Lucy was born in San Antonio, Texas to her parents, Elias Hernandez and Maria Ortiz. Lucy is survived by her son; Tony H. Garcia Jr. and daughter in law Elizabeth Garcia, son in law; Robert R. Araiza Sr, and step daughters; Marie Estrada, Margaret Rodriguez, Martha Landa. Sisters Guadalupe Ortiz, Carmen Beltran, Pauline Ramirez and Antonia Zermeno. Brother Ernest N Ortiz, her granddaughter Angelica L Araiza Jaquez and spouse Daniel Jaquez, her grandson Robert R Araiza II and her granddaughter Sara C Araiza Macias and spouse Matthew Macias.
Lucy is preceded in death by her husband Tony H Garcia, daughter Consuelo O Araiza and stepson Anthony Garcia.
Lucy loved spending time with family, taking mini vacations, traveling to Army Reunions with her husband and granddaughter, fishing and going on the boat with her husband and kids. She also loved family gatherings especially the holidays. Lucy loved being a Seamstress and her favorite musicians were Vicente Fernandez, La Mafia, Jenni Rivera, Juan Gabriel, Ana Gabriel, Rocio Ducal and Cornelo Reyna. She enjoyed watching Novelas, gardening and sewing. She will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Lucy will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 2516 NAVIGATION BLVD, HOUSTON, TX 77003. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, TX 77009. A committal service will occur Friday, April 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert R Araiza II, Daniel R Jaquez, Juan Sanchez Jr, Ovie Beltran, Teddy Rios and Roger Rene Cruz.
