Lucille Mainord went to be with her Lord on July 17, 2017. She was born on December 2, 1918 in Rogers, Texas to parents William Alfred and John Etta Taylor. Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, James Elighu Mainord. She was also preceded in death by nine siblings, John L Talley, William Ernest Taylor, Herman Franklin Taylor, Herbert Taylor, Joe Calvin Taylor, Billy William Taylor, Emma Lee Reed, Flora Belle Caldwell and Willie Manen. She is survived by her two children, Barbara Chumley and husband Don, Sandra Archibald and husband Jimmy; four grandchildren, James Chumley and wife Kathie, Jena Spikes and husband James Ray, Stacey Archibald and Shannon McNeil and husband Scott; five great grandchildren, Ty Chumley, Jamie Spikes, Jordan Spikes, Sadie McNeil and Ian McNeil; Brother-in-law Eddie Mainord and a host of nieces and nephews.
Lucille retired from Sears Roebuck after 23 years service. She was very active in her Church, where she volunteered during Vacation Bible School, cooking many great turkey and dressing and her delicious pecan cream pie, at Church socials. She enjoyed counting the Church collection each Monday morning and delivering to the bank. She loved to sew and after retiring she completed beautiful quilts for her two daughters, four grandchildren and almost all five great-grandchildren, and many of her Church friends. She loved to mow her yard and did up to her late 70’s. Lucille was Loved by many.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Brookside Funeral Home from 5 pm to 8 pm. The funeral will be on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Brookside Funeral Home at 10 am, followed by the burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
