Lucille Reynolds Lamb, 94, went to be with her heavenly Father on February 17, 2011 in the Forum, The Woodlands, Texas. She was born in Angelina County, Texas on July 23, 1916 moving to Houston in 1925. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Reaghan Lamb, her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Ben Franklin, her mother, Edna Reynolds and brother, J.C. Reynolds.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Camille and Bob Hicks, Marilyn Hamner and special friend, Bill Bayer; six grandchildren, Steve and (Debbie) Franklin, Michael and (Sarah) Franklin, Jeff Hicks, Jennifer Hicks Goodell, Craig Hamner, Curt and (Courtney) Hamner; 10 great-grandchildren, Eric Franklin, Kaylee Franklin, Mary Franklin, Ethan Matheson, Kaleb Goodell, Kelsey Goodell, Kaitlyn Goodell, Brittany Hamner, Hayden Hamner, and Sam Hamner.
Lucille was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1935, and married Reaghan in 1936. After 17 years of being a homemaker she went to work at Foleys Dept. store in downtown Houston for over 20 years retiring in 1974. After Reaghan retired from Houston National Bank, they moved to the Spring area in 1980. She resided in Spring until 2007 at which time she relocated to assisted living at the Forum where she completed her journey in life.
Lucille was an active member of Spring Baptist Church, Spring, Texas, for over 20 years. She was very involved in The Sharing Love Sunday School Class, hosting them in her home for Chrismas luncheons and watermelon parties in her backyard. She was the "hostess with the mostess". Cooking and entertaining is what she loved to do for her family and friends. She also was quite a seamstress, making many clothes for her daughters, as well as for herself.
The family is very appreciative of the care she received at the Forum from the caregivers, the hospice aides and nurses. Memorials may be made to the building fund at Spring Baptist Church and/or the Alzheimer's Association .
The family will be receiving friends from 3:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Earthman Resthaven. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2011 at Spring Baptist Church, 1027 Spring Cypress Rd., Spring, Texas 77373, and she will be laid to rest next to her husband Reaghan at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
