Louis Alver DeLaune, Jr, born January 26, 1933, passed away October 6, 2014, in Houston, Texas. A proud member of the US Marine Corps, Louis served during the Korean War. After honorable discharge, he worked in the Reprographics Department at Tenneco, from which he retired in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane DeLaune; children, Cheryl DeLaune Stroker (deceased), Cynthia DeLaune Nolen and husband, Perry, Kathy Meeks and husband, Buddy, Mark Platt and wife, Tamasin, and Jennifer Platt and Oscar Montemayor; grandchildren, Rachel Palmarozzi and husband, Chris, Robert Nolen and wife, Carrie, Blake Hill, Thomas Meeks, Camille Beaugeard, and Joshua Platt; brother, Bernie DeLaune and wife, Wanda; sister, Phyneze Wich, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Karel DeLaune.
The family will greet friends from 5 -8 p.m. on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 in the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to M.D. Anderson Children's Art Project.
