Lottie Mac Bertani came into this Earth on July 25, 1935 and departed on February 25, 2020. She was 84 years old and preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Chuck Bertani and her parents, Benton and Ottolene Grigg of Avery, TX. She is survived by her brother Duel Grigg, her two children, Theresa and Charlie Jr. and his wife, Janice. Also, her four grandchildren, Jamie Lynn Caraway and her husband Brandon, Amanda Pool and her husband Jeff, Charles Bertani III and Amber Shipley. She also has 12 great grandchildren, Peyton Mac, Bo, Ryker and Charlie Caraway, Skylynn, Sloan, Jacey and Charlotte Pool, Charles IV and Ella Bertani, Teagen and Hayslee Shipley. And her best friend of more than 60 years, Francis Frisby.
Born into a small East Texas town, she grew to seek out Big City adventures. She studied in Beauty school in Corpus Christi and Dallas, TX, where she would meet her future husband. They moved to Houston, TX and started their respective careers and raised a family. Most of her adult life she worked as a beautician and even owned her own Hair Salon called Lottie’s Beauty Salon in the Heights. When that chapter of her life had closed, she supported all of her husband’s endeavors and excitedly embraced her new role of being a Meme. She was faithful, hardworking, loyal, unselfish and the most loving and good hearted person.
To try and sum her up in this short insert, would just fall short of the entire person she is. She loved anything and everything that had to do with beauty, fashion, and jewelry until the very end. She ALWAYS told her family she loved them every day. She is an incredibly beautiful soul that made this world and everyone in it better just by being around her. She taught her family many life lessons, but perhaps the most powerful was her teaching us to pray. She prayed every single day without fail. We will miss her sweet voice and her knack of coming up with truly unique sayings for every situation. There are no adequate words to explain the magnitude of this great loss, all we can do now is to live and learn from what this great woman has taught us and to make sure that she is never forgotten.
Meme…”I Love You more than you will ever know.”
The family would like to sincerely thank Elizabeth Padron for the love and care that she has shown our Meme over the years.
