On Feb. 4, 1933, God gave the world a special angel by the name of Lorraine. She grew up in Bronx, New York to be a beautiful and Godly woman who married Bert Horn. They went on to have four daughters: Debora, Valerie, Sharon, and Robin whom she loved very much. She also was a beloved grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. On June 2, 2023, God called his angel back home very peacefully at the age of 90. She had a cup of coffee in one hand and a muffin in the other.
She supported her husband by being a bookkeeper and other various jobs allowing him to earn his degree. She instilled in her children to love and respect our Heavenly Father, help those in need, never to give up, show respect toward others, and that it was okay to get mad at times for no one is perfect. For instance, our dad was trying to teach her to drive, and he told her to turn left to go around an esplanade but didn’t tell her to straighten out the wheel and she wiped out someone’s mailbox. She also was an animal lover. She would cry every time she saw a dead animal on the road. That’s another reason and story as to why she never drove. She loved shopping and buying things, so our dad nicknamed her the Bag Lady.
Our mom may be gone from this world, but she will always live on in our hearts. Remember, Love can’t stop death, but death sure the hell can’t stop our love for her either. I remember a saying which stated that the stars above us are our loved ones who have departed from this world, and they are shining upon us to show us that they are happy. We love You Mom, rest peacefully in our Father’s arms.
Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00pm, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, Graveside services will 1:00pm, Friday, June 16, 2023 at Houston National Cemetery.
