Lorraine Gussoni

Lorraine Mintz Gussoni peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the age of 88. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 30, 1926, to Jeanette Lefebre Mintz and Arthur William Mintz. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Gussoni Kerne; son-in-law, Dave J Kerne; grandchildren: Dean Kerne, Dane Kerne, Dwayne Kerne, Deon Kerne Wright and Daniel Kerne; and great grandchildren: Katarina Kerne, Owen Wright, Samantha Kerne, Miles Wright and Avery Kerne.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, August Anthony Gussoni II; her son, August Anthony Gussoni III; her sisters: Helen Mintz Scaffidi and Doris Mintz Luparella.

Lorraine cherished those opportunities to celebrate life and was well known for her talents in the kitchen, she especially enjoyed cooking seafood and baking extravagant cakes. A life-long New Orleanian, she relocated to the Houston area following Hurricane Katrina to be close to her daughter Jeanette and her family.

Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Brookside Funeral Home in Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a favorite charity.
