Lorenzo Pena Rodriguez, age 83, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 9, 2021. Lorenzo was born September 5, 1937 in Glen Flora, Texas. Lorenzo proudly served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Petra Rodriguez and 6 children. Richard (Yolanda), Rudolph (Anna), Roy (Carolyn), Stella (David) Woolley, Lawrence Jr., Ramona, 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Lorenzo was a true servant of God in his faith and family. Lorenzo was a long time member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, chaired the parishes yearly festivals for many years, a very active member of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, one of the many founders of the Knights of Columbus Council 8404, a 4th degree Sir Knight, and past Grand Knight. Lorenzo was a loving husband, great father, grandfather and great grandfather and friend to many that will be dearly missed. As a husband, his wife was the world to him. As a father "Pop" always showed us his love and never hesitated to give us his time to listen to anything we had to say. He gave us the greatest gift of faith in God. Every person he met he made feel very special. We are all blessed and better to have had him in our lives.
A visitation for Lorenzo will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A rosary will occur Friday, July 16, 2021 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, Texas 77009. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N Main St, Houston, Texas 77009.
Serving as pallbearers are Richard Rodriguez, Rudolph Rodriguez, Roy Rodriguez, Lawrence Rodriguez Jr., Roy Rodriguez Jr., Adam Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez Jr., Mark Woolley, Beau Woolley, Zachary Woolley and Isaiah Keo.
