Lorena Moncada

Lorena graduated from High School and received the title of, Secretaria Taquimecanografa from La Academia Secretarial Sagrado Corazon. She later met Santos J. Munguia on January of 1989 and married on May 5, 2005.

She had a career as Secretary of Justice for Abriendo Puertas and was also the Vice President of Abriendo Puertas. Lorena had a passion for traveling between states to raise awareness for children with special needs and enjoyed speaking at the Georgetown University in Baltimore. She also enjoyed being able to have dinner in the blue room at the White House to meet with congress, and above all she had an absolute love for cooking and dressing to impress!

She is survived by beloved daughters, Rosa Jaime, Angie Lorena Moncada, and Wendy Carias; beloved sons, Juan Carlos Irias, and Bayron Munguia; grand-daughters, Ashley Velasco and Shelly Jaime; grand-son, Maverick Irias, sisters, Mercedes, Xiomara and Vilma Moncada; brother, Carlos Moncada.

A visitation for Lorena will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Monday, July 24, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A graveside service will occur Monday, July 24, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Brookside Memorial Park.
