Lois Barbara Palmgren

Lois was a member of Shepherd Dr. United Methodist Church since 1951 where she enjoyed her time singing in the choir. She was assistant coach and team mom to the Sunliners and Cherokee teams at Oaks Dad’s Club. Lois loved Houston sports, especially the Houston Astros, but she still had a soft spot for her favorite childhood team, the Boston Red Sox.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy A. Palmgren; parents, Elsie Greaves & Robert Halshaw; siblings, Ruth Sperring and Robert Halshaw, Jr. She is survived by her children, Susan O’Connor (Walter), Peggy Palmgren, James Palmgren (Lori), and Barbara Gayle Palmgren; grandchildren, Becky (Bill), Debra (Jimmy O.), Shawn (Angie), and Abbie; great-grandchildren, Mandy (Colton), Chad, Emily (Eric), Abbie (Tyler), and Brant; great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Brenley, Nathan, Maddie, Caitlyn Lois, Kyla, Carson, and Kendyl; numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 25, 2024 at 11 AM at Heights Funeral Home, with the funeral service beginning at 12 PM. Interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer. The family would like to thank their pallbearers, James Palmgren, Shawn Clarke, Brant Dixon, Jeremy Pasket, Nathan McDowell, and Bill Guild; honorary pallbearers, Walter, Chad, Jimmy O., Tyler, Colton, Eric, and Tracy Ward.
