Lloyd Morris Kelley, was born in Huntsville, Texas, on October 8, 1937, to Annual Kelley & Hannah Glaspie-Kelley. At the age of seven his father preceded him in death & was raised by his mother & step-father (Willie Guy, Jr.) whom he loved dearly.
He was baptized at an early age and accepted Christ as his Lord & Savior.
He moved to Houston at an early age & attended the school in he Houston Independent School district. He was a graduate of Phyllis Wheatley High School.
Immediately following high school, he joined the United States Army.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to JoBeth Moch & to this union two children were born, Mary Elizabeth Kelley & Anjus Morris Kelley. He was a dedicated husband & father. He loved vacationing & spending time with his family. After the death of his wife JoBeth, he later married Willie B. Jones (Willa) in 2003.
He rededicated his life to Christ under the leadership of Pastor W. F. Thorn at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 7728 Peachtree, Houston, TX 77016 & was ordained as a Deacon. He later was under the leadership of Johnny Gambrel & currently Charles August, at St. John. He was a faithful, willing & dedicated servant until his health began to fail; nonetheless, he leaned & depended on Jesus Christ. He departed his earthly life to eternal glory on August 14, 2021.
Also preceded him in death are his mother & stepfather Hannah & Willie Guy, Jr., brother Anjus Kelley, sister Rosetta Kelley Walker-Guy, three brother-in-laws Charles Helaire, Earnest Alexander & William Guy.
Lloyd leaves to cherish his memories, wife Willa Kelley, beloved daughter, Mary Kelley-James (Ron), son, Anjus Morris Kelley (Charleen) of Cibolo, TX, step-children Myranee Jackson, Richelle Simpson (Eric) of Tennessee, Gerald Jackson (Annie) of Katy, TX, four sisters Edna Marie Helaire of Natchitoches, LA, Sherlyn Alexander, Brenda Smith (Leonard), Janette Shannon all of Houston, TX, Two Brother-in-laws George Stenson (Maudrey), Lester Stenson (Donna), Two Sister-in-laws Lula Collins (Linton), Brenda Randall, Three grandsons, Roland Hackett (Tracie), Anjus Kelley, III (Seanndrah) of San Antonio, TX, Christopher Kelley of Cibolo, TX, five step grandchildren Sequoia & Bryson Simpson of Tennessee, Justin, Justice & Zoye Jackson of Katy, TX, Two great-grandchildren, Chase & Paige Hackett, two step great grandchildren Colin & Dru Simpson & a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
