Lisa Jan Rogers, 56, was called to Heaven much too soon on September 15, 2013. Lisa was born on June 16, 1957 in Houston, Texas. A lifelong Texan, she grew up in Briargrove Park and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1975. After a lengthy career in the oil and gas industry, Lisa went to work for MICI where she served as President for over fifteen years. Lisa loved to travel and recently returned from a lengthy trip to China and Tibet where she sailed the Yangtze River and hiked up temples in the Himalayas. She also enjoyed taking vacations with her daughters throughout Europe and the Caribbean. In addition to traveling, Lisa loved reading, playing Mexican train, and dining out at new restaurants with her girlfriends. Known for her vivacious and lively character, she was always up for experiencing new adventures. Lisa was a lover of all animals and incredibly compassionate and kind to all who knew her. Her number one passion was her children and she was so excited to have recently become a proud grandmother to a precious baby girl.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, James Warner Roach and Lee Gardner Roach. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, Brittany Rogers and Nicole Rogers Homme; son-in-law, Matthew Homme; granddaughter, Madison Grace Homme; brother, James ("Jimmy") Roach; rescue dog Winfrey, and rescue cat Jules.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home at 12800 Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas. A visitation will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park.
