Lisa Kay Bunner peacefully passed from this life to eternal life on May 16, 2023, in Sugar Land, Texas. A native Houstonian, Lisa was born on May 24, 1964. For more than 58 years, Lisa poured herself into her family as a dedicated daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin. She was a loyal and faithful friend to many. Gone too soon, her loss is profound while her memory is our treasure.
Lisa was the first child of Franceane and Joseph (Cliff) Bunner and the older sister to her brother Joe. Being “Aunt Lisa” & “Cousin Lisa” were her favorite roles, by far, to her nieces Madison and Mackenzie, and cousins David, Avery, Joseph, Steven, and Colby.
Lisa graduated from Sharpstown High School in 1982 and later graduated from the University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. After multiple management roles in CA, TX, and FL with Hyatt Hotels, Lisa’s career turned to commercial real estate where she held leadership roles with Kenneth Leventhal & Company, Situs, & Moody National. Lisa founded her own company, Two12 Realty Advisors, in 2014 until her retirement in 2017. Her network of professional colleagues was broad, long-lasting, and embedded with friendships.
Lisa’s landscape of family and friends was broad and deep. Once you were friends with Lisa, you were friends for life. Her interest in you was genuine and when she asked how you were doing, an “I’m fine” didn’t suffice. She wanted to know how you were really doing. Lisa made you feel like the most important person in the room. And to her, you were.
She was predeceased by her mother Franceane. She is survived by her father, Joseph Clifton Bunner (Cliff); her brother Joseph Clifton Bunner Jr. (Joe), his wife Melissa (Missy) and their daughters, Madison and Mackenzie Bunner; aunt Eileen Spisak, her sons Chris Spisak and his wife Jennifer and son David, Matt Spisak and his wife Christy and daughter Avery; aunt Elenor Bunner, her son Jim Bunner; cousin Sean Houlihan and his wife Brianne and their sons Joe, Steven, and Colby, and a host of extended family and loving friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Shiao-Pei Weathers at M.D. Anderson, Dr. Frank Mazza and his staff, as well as Karen Miller, Belinda Chong, and the extended team at Good Shepherd Hospice who supported us with love and compassion throughout Lisa’s hospice journey. Finally, our warm and heartfelt thanks to Lisa’s private caregivers, Brenda, Linda, Areail, & Monique. We couldn’t have done this without you.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Lisa’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
