Linda was a 1980 Graduate of J. Frank Dobie High School. Although she could not afford college, she was determined to get a degree. She worked full time and went to school at night. She received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Business Material Management and Supply Chain Management from Houston Community College with high honors. She received her insurance license and was a co-owner and office manager of an insurance company. She also worked in IT.
Linda was born on August 25, 1962 in San Bernadino, California and lived in Houston since she was two years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, Max Lee Wilson and Ayako Sato Wilson; and her beloved pit bull, Stefanie. Linda is survived by her son Pierce Herron; her twin sister, Brenda Wilson Winfree; sister, Karen Mosby and her husband, Michael Mosby along with her beloved nieces and nephews: Lexi Winfree and partner, Connor VanDaveer; Sara Winfree and her son; Jason Mosby and wife, Nicole Mosby and their children; and Cierra Mattison and her children.
Linda was smart, determined and hilarious. Even through the cancer ordeal, she never lost her quick wit and sense of humor. She had a passion for country music, dancing, pit bulls, cooking and gardening.
The family would like to thank Michael McDougal for being a lifelong friend to Linda and especially during this time; Sheryl Gunn for being a loyal friend to her especially during her time of need, taking her to doctors appointments, running errands and the many visits to our home; and Heart to Heart Hospice Care team for the gentle care given to Linda in her final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, August 13 at Brookside Funeral Home, Cypress Creek located at 9149 Hwy 6 N, Houston, TX 77095 beginning at 1:00 pm.
