Linda Sue Ward was born January 29, 1952 in Houston. Texas to parents Lesley and Susie Ward. Linda graduated from George Carver High School in Houston Texas in May 1970. After graduating she attended Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, Tx where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She continued her studies at Prairie View A&M University and received her Master’s degree in Special Education Counseling.
Linda was employed with Aldine Independent School District as a Special Education Teacher/ Director for 30 plus years. Teaching was her passion. When she retired, she was still determined to work as a substitute teacher. Linda also did volunteer services at Acres Homes Multi-Service center. Linda would always find a way to balance her schedule so that she could remain faithful to the community. She remained faithful and active until her health declined.
Linda was best known for her fashion sense. Linda enjoyed traveling, shopping, line dancing and much more. She was a member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority (Houston) Chapter. She was also a faithful member of Proverbs 31.
Linda gave her life to Christ and joined St. James United Methodist Church under the leadership of Pastor Roy Weeks.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lesley and Susie Ward.
Linda leaves to cherish a niece, Nicole Taylor; two special cousins, Gwen Ward Knight and Natasha Knight-Jones; first generation of cousins, second generation of cousins, third generation of cousins and a host of friends.
