Linda went to San Jacinto College and became a registered nurse on May 27, 1965. Linda was very proud to be a nurse and even after retirement, kept her nursing license active. It was while she was working at Hughes Tool Company in Houston that she met Sid Sims. The two married on February 12, 1966 and remained together for 54 years.
Linda loved to travel and was proud that she had been to every state in the continental US. Linda and Sid had the opportunity to travel to many places during their life together and shared that love with the next generation by taking her grandchildren to some of the same places they traveled with their children. Linda was also an avid gardener and loved cooking new things in the kitchen.
Linda was also very interested in history. She did some research into her family history and made sure that everyone in the family knew that we were related to Davy Crockett (2nd cousins!). Linda, along with several other family members, joined the Daughters of the American Revolution; a fact that she was very proud of. Linda was also a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, JD and Lela Liles, her sister, Deanie Caraway, and her brother Gerald Liles. Linda is survived by her sister, Gail Fry, her husband, Sid E. Sims, her daughter, Leah Bhaskar of the Woodlands, her two sons, Scott E. Sims, and Aaron J. Sims, of Houston and her four grandchildren, Brandon M. Bhaskar, Brittany M. Bhaskar, Sydney E. Sims, and Damien S. Sims.
