Linda Tice Simmons, 68, of Houston, Texas passed away Friday, October 05, 2018. Linda was born in Galena Park, Texas on February 11, 1950, to Ruth and Kenneth Tice. Linda graduated from Galena Park High School in 1968, where she met many of her lifelong friends, served as an officer on the Jacketeer Drill Team, and was crowned Miss Galena Park 1968.
Linda married her lifelong love and husband of 44 years, Mark Simmons and they started their family in the Sageglen community where they raised daughters, Sarah and Lacy. Linda touched the lives of many students as a substitute teacher in Clear Creek ISD for 20 years. Her greatest pleasures were spending time in her garden, planning camping adventures at Garner State Park, volunteering in her daughters' schools and organizations, cuddling with her cats, Addie and Allie, cheering on the Astros and the Texans, and playing her favorite role in Life, of "Lollie" to her two granddaughters, Cameron and Layla.
Linda was survived by her husband Mark Simmons; daughters Sarah and husband Chris Carnes, Lacy Prahm; granddaughters Cameron and Layla; sister Pamela and husband Kenneth Griggs; brother Mark Tice and wife Becky, sister-in-law Jamie and brother-in-law Norman Phillips and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends, on Wednesday, October 10th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00pm, on Thursday, October 11th, followed by interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
