Linda Ruth Johnston McKinnon

Linda Ruth “Johnston” McKinnon was born in Houston, Texas on Saturday, July 29, 1950, to parents Robert James and Cornelia Belle (Hataway) Johnston. At the age of 65, she went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, September 21, 2015 in Houston.

Linda was a lifetime resident of Houston and active member of Clay Road Baptist Church. She graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1968. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister, who enjoyed being with her family and especially enjoyed being active in her son’s school and various activities.

Linda is survived by a loving family, her devoted husband of 38 years, Michael “Mike” McKinnon; their sons, Michael William McKinnon and Steven Douglas McKinnon and his wife Kristin; her brother, John Johnston and his wife, Sharon; other loving family members and many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at a visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston. Funeral Services will be held at her beloved Clay Road Baptist Church, 9151 Clay Road, also Houston, where Dr. Mark Redd will provide a message of hope and inspiration, and Dr. Bruce Northam, Connie Northam and Justin Kirtley, will render songs of praise. Cemetery services will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
