Linda Ann Crouch, our beloved Angel, received her newly crafted Angel wings and flew into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 25, 2014. Linda was 54 years old and resided in Houston, Texas with her husband, Bill and Sheltie, Bella (affectionately nicknamed “skunk” by Linda). After staging a courageous 16-month war with brain cancer, Linda was resting peacefully in her home when God’s loving hand lifted her to safety. Linda was never one to shy away from a challenge and taught those who knew her what “courage” truly looked like.
Linda was born in Groton, Massachusetts on June 29, 1960 and spent her childhood in Pepperell, Massachusetts. She attended and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell with her B.S. Degree in Health Education. Linda went on to work for Matthew Thornton, Wang Laboratories and eventually Cigna, where she most recently held the position of Client Engagement Manager.
Linda was predeceased by her mother Eleanor Jane Duda and brother Tony Duda. Linda is survived by her husband Bill and step-daughter Kendall Ann Crouch. She is also survived by her father Thaddeus (Ted) Duda, brother Eddie Duda and sisters Andrea Duda and Valerie Duda: also by three nieces, Alaina, Elizabeth and Jessica Chalmers.
Linda had a huge zest for life coupled with a huge, giving heart. She adored her mother and father and was a terrific wife and step-mother to Bill, Kendall, “Skunk” and “Shady” (her tiny oak tree). Linda had many friends and loved her family. Our beloved Angel will be missed greatly.
A special thanks to Dr. Jay-Jiguang Zhu and Dr. Sigmund Hsu and their dedicated team at Mischer Neuroscience Associates for their loving and compassionate manner in caring for Linda. They gave Linda the gift of “Hope” and extended her quality of life. Also, thanks to Dr. Falco and Karen Fels with TIRR Rehabilitation facility and their dedicated nurses and therapists who gave Linda the “Hope” of one day walking along the sandy shore of “Shipwreck Beach” and seeing the beauties of the Na Pali coast in Kauai (story to be continued).
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 3:00 PM in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024.
In lieu of flowers, Linda would be honored to have a donation be made to the “Boys and Girls Country”, 18806 Roberts Rd., Hockley, Texas 77447-9327.
A special note about Linda’s Angel wings: the outer wing is “gold-flaked” and the inner wing is “gold-dusted.” This combination lends itself to speed and durability. Linda is the only known Angel with this type of wing. She is so proud!
