Linda Faye Chang, 65 of Houston, Texas passed away April 28th, 2022. She was born in Bessemer, Alabama on July 24th, 1956 to Queen Elizabeth Davidson. She was married to Henry Williams for 20 years. Linda worked hard for many years in the retail sector after graduating from Miles College with her Bachelors in Business. Linda was a dedicated store manager at Kmart and TJ Maxx stores in the greater Houston Area, while also working towards her Masters Degree in Special Education from the University of Texas -Permian Basin. Linda then followed her life long passion of becoming an educator and began working for The Houston Independent School District - serving as a Teachers Assistant in the Special Education department at T.H. Rogers for 15 wonderful years.
Linda participated in her schools after-care program, where she mentored several students in addition to working with her disabled students. When not working at the school, Linda worked tirelessly at McGee Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She served on the Usher board for 6 years. Serving on the same usher board as her mother, Queen Davidson - many years prior.
She was preceded in death by, Queen Elizabeth Davidson (Mother), Charles Edward Davidson (Brother) and Henry Lawrence Williams (Husband).
She is survived by her two children, Renae Chang and Jenifer Nicole Chang. Her eldest sister, Shirley Anne Watson. Her nieces, Mary Elizabeth Elliot, Yolanda Marie Fisher, LaTonya Renay Watson, KaShaundra Davidson, and Theo Davidson. Her nephews, Charles Davidson Jr., Nathan Davidson, Nicholas Davidson and a host of grant nieces and nephews.
We will forever miss Ms. Linda's smile. A bright spot in this world is gone, but we must continue to carry the light she gave all of us into the rest of our days - so that we may carry her with us into the future.
A visitation for Linda will be held Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home.
