Lincoln Harden Veasey was born on July 20, 1936, in Houston,Texas to the parents of Zack and Emily Veasey. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Brookshire Reed and Darryl Veasey. He met and married his wife of 40 years, Lorene Bennett, and is survived by her, and his four daughters Carmen Bennett, Candace Bennett, Debra Jones and Shawn Veasey, and four sons, Rodney Veasey, Gregory Veasey, Zackary Veasey, and Donald Veasey, seventeen grandchildren Jeremy, Rodney II, Iyana, Isaiah, Ivan, Carlos, Gregory, Shawn, Cameron, Starletta, Keisha, Zackary II, Brittany, David II, Gregg, Deondre, and Donte, twenty great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Lincoln attended Jack Yates High School, and upon graduation he enlisted and served two years in the United States Army, and served 10 plus years in the National Guards. He was a faithful member of the Philadelphian Fellowship Church, and served as a faithful member and deacon under the leadership of Dr. Joshua X. Ince, until his passing. Some of his leisure activities included watching sports, and playing dominoes. Services for Mr. Veasey will begin Thursday, January 31, 2013, with a visitation from 7-9PM. Funeral Services will follow on Friday, February 1, 2013, beginning at 11:00AM. Both services will be held in the Garden of Hope Chapel of Paradise Funeral Home. Rev. Joshua X. Hince, PhD, will bring forth the celebratory message. Mr. Veasey's earthly tabernacle shall rest in the Houston National Cemetery.
